of ability, but because the path is scattered and lonely. We start by fixing that for the checkride.

WHAT IS AN "ALULA"?
The small feather that keeps a bird in control when it matters most.
The alula is a cluster of tiny feathers on a bird's wing that deploys at low speed — during the slow, high-stakes moments of takeoff and landing — to keep the bird from stalling and losing control.
That's the whole idea behind this company: the steadying help exactly when the stakes are highest. For a student pilot, no moment is higher-stakes than the checkride.
Why we started with the checkride
One in four private pilot applicants fails their practical test. Not because they can't fly — but because the oral is a scenario-based conversation, and most prep is still rote question-and-answer that students themselves call "a waste of paper."
So we did the unglamorous work: we read hundreds of real checkride gouges, forum posts, and "here's why I busted" stories, cross-referenced them with the FAA ACS, and turned all of it into an activity workbook — fill-ins, scenarios in the DPE's real
words, draw-on-the-sectional exercises, even review games. Because learning something several different ways is what makes it hold when your heart is pounding.
